Joan Wimbish

Joan Wimbish, age 91, of Venice, Florida, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on June 29, 2026. She was born on September 22, 1934 in Swissvale, Pennsylvania and moved to Venice in 1961. Joan was a retired teacher with the Sarasota County School System and member of the Epiphany Cathedral Church. Joan will be remembered as a true and faithful servant.

She is survived by her twin sons, Jon (Misty) Wimbish, Barry (Katherine) Wimbish and her eight grandchildren, Allison, McKinley, Katelyn, Madison, Barry, Olivia, Will and Sara, all of Venice. Joan was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Paul and Anna Walendziewicz, three siblings, Paul Walendziewcz, Lola Walendziewcz, Michael Walendziewicz and a cousin, Frank Walendziewicz.

A visitation will be held from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Farley Funeral Home in Venice on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice on Thursday, July 16, 2026 with a graveside service to follow at Venice Memorial Gardens.
