John Bennett

After a long battle with cancer, John Bennett, 56, of Venice, Florida, passed away in his home surrounded by family. John was born in Springfield, Illinois on July 12, 1960. He moved here with his family in July 1969 and graduated from Venice High School in 1978. John was a chiropractor and built a family run practice in Venice with his wife, Ellen, in 1986. He was a selfless supporter of the Venice community throughout his life and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. John is survived by his wife of 31 years, Ellen; children, Erick and Courtney; parents, Glenn and Judy; sister, Julia; and many extended family members. John loved his family; his children were the biggest joy in life. He was a wonderful loving husband and a friend to many. John loved golf, fishing, working and building things with Ellen. A Celebration of Life will be held at the South Jetty on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 4:30pm. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be mad to the Sarcoma Unit at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL
