John Craig Nee

John (Jack) Nee, 89, of Venice, FL went home to be with the Lord on June 20, 2026. He was born in Concord, Massachusetts, son of Martha and William Nee. He served 5 years in the United States Air Force, including one year in Korea in 1956.
John worked for 30 years as a New Jersey Corrections Officer, retiring with the rank of Sergeant. He was also a lifetime member of the PBA 105 and a retired member of PBA 600.
He was preceded in death by a step-son William A. Godown and a brother, William Nee.
John leaves behind his loving wife, Darlene, of 47 years together. He is also survived by daughter Barbara (Patrick) Morgans of Tamaqua, PA, Susan (Louis) Doughty of Okeechobee, FL, son John(Rosie) Nee of Fair Oaks, IN and his brother Robert (Patricia) Nee of Holden, MA. His grandchildren Ryan, Emma, Sara, Abigail Morgans and Great-grand daughter Ellie O'Brien, all of Tamaqua, PA. Grandchildren Erin, Lindsay, Louie and April of Florida and Jennifer and Megan Nee of Indiana. There are 17 Great-grand children and many nieces and nephews.
John loved the Lord, computers, the west coast of Florida, reading his newspapers and spending time with his favorite dog Nessie.
He fought a long battle with cancer, he is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
John will proudly be buried at Sarasota National Cemetery after a funeral service at Farley Funeral Home in Venice on Tuesday June 30, 2026.
