John Joseph "Jack" Dulmer Jr.

Aug 22, 1947 — Apr 7, 2018

John Joseph ""Jack"" Dulmer, Jr. was born on August 22, 1947, and entered his eternal home on Saturday April 7th. He was born in Passaic, NJ to Aida Pizzulo Dulmer and John Joseph ""Jack"" Dulmer, Sr. He grew up in Wayne, NJ, playing Little League and ice hockey, riding horses, and participating in Boy Scouts. He and his friends decided they would all attend college together. The only school to accept them all was Memphis State University. While there, he was president of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and president of Interfraternity Council. Most importantly, he met the love of his life, Patsye Huey. After college, the two wed in August of 1970 and Jack graduated from Memphis State Law School in 2 ½ years. After graduation, and the birth of their first child, John Joseph Dulmer III, they moved to Venice, FL. He began his legal career with Charlie Cheeves, Richard Hazen, and Harry Rapkin. He also practiced with Russell Snyder and Jack McGill during which time his daughter Kelly Elizabeth was born. Eventually he formed Dulmer & Tracy where he practiced for over thirty years until the time of his passing. He was a Mason, an active member of Grace United Methodist Church for 44 years, serving on various committees. He and Patsye had been attending Christ United Methodist Church since August 2017. Jack's heart for helping people was both a personal endeavor as well as a community focused one. He was a volunteer for Teen Court, was instrumental in helping form local service organizations, and he also coached his son John's teams on Venice Little League for many years. Jack loved the outdoors, sharing his many hobbies with family and friends. He was an avid sailor, racing to Mexico on the ""Scarlet Russe"" for several years. In his younger days he enjoyed racquet ball, running, hunting and fishing. But above all, his true love was golf. Our Jack was truly a ""Jack of All Trades"". As a father, he was always there for every game, every performance, ceremony and production. As a grandfather he continued with his presence and involvement, reveling in spending time with his grandbabies. Jack and Patsye loved to travel the world and still had several trips on the books, Jack lived life to the fullest, relishing good food and wine and the company of friends and family. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Patsye; his mother Ada Dulmer; his children John and wife Leslee Chapman Dulmer and their children Emma Kathryn Dulmer and John ""Spencer"" Dulmer; and Kelly Elizabeth Goede (nee Dulmer) and husband Todd Goede and their children Lillianna Grace, Ty Christian, Isabella Spence and James McCabe; his brother Dennis Frank Dulmer and wife Carla Rollinson; and many cousins aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as his close confidante in golf, R.J. Tellford. A memorial service will be held at Christ United Methodist Church in Venice on Saturday, April 14th at 10 AM.
