Joseph R. Malone, Sr.
December 26, 1926 — April 14, 2016
Joseph Richard Malone Sr., 89 Years old, passed away on April 14, 2016 in Sarasota, Florida. He graduated early from Asbury Park High School in New Jersey in 1943 to join the military.
He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Army Air Corp from 1943 to 1945 as a Radio Operator and spent much of his time in Japan. Joe married his wife, Irene, at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Asbury Park, New Jersey in 1957. Joe is survived by his wife, Irene and their two sons Charles and Joseph. He is also survived by his brother Thomas and sister-in-law Denise and his nieces Sharon, Terry and Nancy and his brother Jean's nephews Michael, Robert, John, and Edward.
He and Irene retired to North Port, Florida in 1992. They enjoyed a simple retired life and he served in the Community Citizen Patrol for which he found great pleasure. Before retirement, he was a Service Repairman for Eatontown TV and Sears Roebuck which he retired after several decades of service. Before he passed, when asked what he did for a living, he simply replied ""I made people happy.""
Joe never uttered an unkind word and was always looked upon as one of the nicest and sincerest individuals one would ever meet. This is indeed his legacy.
Services and burial will be private for the family. Farley Funeral Home in North Port, Florida is handling the arrangements.
