Katherine H. Barnaby

Katherine H. Barnaby, 87, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Albany, NY and Lake George NY died on March 29, 2014. Katherine attended Berlin High School and graduated from Middlesex Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She was a member of the International Red Cross Nurses. She met her beloved husband Gerard while assisting him in surgery at the Middlesex Hospital. They were married in 1950 and enjoyed a 61 year marriage until his passing in 2011. Survivors include his daughters Patricia Barnaby (John) Koltes of Naperville, IL and Lynn Elizabeth (Steve Dostie) Barnaby of Burlington, VT; sons Gerard A. (Alicia) Barnaby, Jr. of Grand Rapids, MI and Keith F. Barnaby of Phoenixville, PA; brother William J. (Marge) Hoppe of Charlottesville, VA; and eight grandchildren, Lindsay B. Koltes, John ""Jesse"" A. Koltes IV, Tyler J. Koltes, Benjamin P. Barnaby, Gregory Barnaby, Laurel Barnaby, Lily Barnaby, and Jack Gerard Barnaby. Services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Humane Society of America.
