Ken Fromer

Ken Fromer, 77, passed away at his home in Venice, Florida on January 28th, 2026. Ken was born and raised in Asbury Park, NJ. A true “Son of Asbury”, he graduated from Asbury Park High School class of 1966, where he played Football, Wrestled, was on the Blue Bishops Physical Fitness Team and was a member of the Ulps fraternity. He attended the University of Missouri and Monmouth College.

Being a life-long Entrepreneur, Ken first enjoyed success in a Personnel Agency in Manhattan. He invested in Commercial and Residential Real Estate and later started Kingston Components Manufacturing in Newark, NJ. Ken’s real success came when he built, scaled, and sold a Digital Scoreboard business.

He met his wife, Lynn, in 1970 and they were married in 1973. They resided in Asbury Park, Neptune, and West Allenhurst, NJ where they raised their son, Jason Fromer. In 2001 they moved to Venice, Florida. Shortly after his move to Venice, Florida, he was bitten by the acting bug and performed in over a dozen plays at the Venice Theater. He also appeared in a motion picture and did several commercials.

Ken played Golf, loved to Fish, and spent time travelling to many of the best beaches. He was philanthropic, supporting many local charities through the Gulf Coast Community Foundation. Ken was blessed to be able to spend lots of time with his son Jason, Daughter-in-Law Nicole, and his Grandchildren, Charlize (Charlie) and Cyrus, who live only 20 minutes away. He is also survived by his brother, Robert B. Fromer of Melbourne, FL.  Ken was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Gerechoff Fromer and his father, Seymour Fromer.

A celebration of life will be held for Ken back in New Jersey this Summer, and a race at Monmouth Park will be named in his honor on Sunday, June 7th.
