Kevin Thomas O'Shea

Kevin Thomas O’Shea, 61, of Venice, Florida and formerly of Merrick, New York died peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday May 22, 2013 at Tidwell Hospice in Sarasota, Florida. Kevin was born on August 31, 1951 in New York to Marie (Schmidt) and Thomas O’Shea. Kevin served his country in the Navy following high-school and continued his service as a New York Police Sergeant until his retirement in 2001. After retirement Kevin fulfilled his long time dream of designing his dream retirement home in Venice, Florida. He loved carpentry, photography, viewing model homes, the beach, reading, a good debate, and spending time with his friends and grandchildren. Kevin is survived by his daughters, Kerri (O’Shea) Siira and Jennifer (O’Shea) Baer; his son in laws Kevin Siira and Clint Baer; his loving grandchildren Kailey O’Shea, Keegan Siira, and Kade Siira. He also left behind his siblings, Maureen O’Shea, Thomas O’Shea, Marie O’Shea, and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Denise O’Shea. A viewing will be held from 10:30-11:30AM with a Celebration of Life Service to follow on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Farley Funeral Home in Venice.
