Klaus P. Samietz

Klaus P. Samietz, 82, of Venice, FL, formerly of Gelnhausen, Germany passed away December 28, 2014 after a long illness. Mr. Samietz graduated with a Masters Degree in Areonautical Engineering from the prestigious Technische Universitaet Darmstadt in 1958. He spent his career as an engineer, traveling the globe, establishing branch offices in the U.S., Russia, and Australia. He relocated with his family every few years, including stints in the Philippines and Japan. A part-time resident of Venice since the early 1970s, Mr. Samietz enjoyed retiring to the Island in 2000, spending time as a member of the Venice Yach Club and Venice Stamp Club. He possessed a large collection of model trains, and in his final years, enjoyed visiting with friends he made from around the world. Mr. Samietz is survived by his loving wife Ruth, precious children Ulrich and his wife Julie of Vancouver, B.C., Laura Nishimine and her husband Sakae of Tokyo, Japan, and Rita Samietz and her companion Brad Goodrich of Sarasota, FL, grandchildren Sebastian, Alexander, Isabella, & Nicholas, and sisters Dagmar Vulcano of Rome, Italy & Dr. Ursula Hill of Germany.
