Laferne Williams

Laferne R. Williams, of Venice, FL, passed away on Feb. 19, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Thomas, son Thomas II, of Venice, FL, daughter Sarah and son-in-law, David, of Telluride CO; mother, Gloria; brother Steve and sister Lonna. Laferne was born in Albuquerque, NM. After graduating from Goddard High School in Roswell, NM, she majored in drama at New Mexico State University, and was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. Laferne married Tom, and was stationed with her husband and family in Kansas, Georgia, Virginia, South Carolina, West Berlin, Washington, D.C., West Germany and Indiana. After returning from Berlin, Laferne began working at Finley Fine Jewelry in Indianapolis. She moved to Venice in 2001, and retired from Macy's as fine jewelry managers in Indianapolis, Port Charlotte and Sarasota. She was an avid reader and was home playing cards, canoeing, collecting jewelry and enjoying the company of family and friends. Her laugh was contagious. She brought joy to all, and was but a demonstration of the Grace of God. Interment will be at the Georgia National Cemetery in April.
