Leatrice D. Samuels

Leatrice D. Samuels, beloved mother and loving, devoted wife, died on August 10, 2014 at age 86. She was born in New York City on May 19, 1928, and came to Venice from Long Island. Leatrice attended and graduated from the Fashion Institute of New York City. She was a member of the Chabad of Venice and Chaplain for the Eastern Star. One of her greatest joys was involvement with the Hadassah of Venice. She served that organization as a delegate from Long Island, traveling to Israel with them and served as Membership Delegate in Venice. Surviving family members include her husband, Bernard, of Venice; sons Harold of Hollywood, FL, Stephen of Ventura, CA, and Norman of Cleveland, OH; daughter Melanie of Brooklyn, NY; brother Lou Diamant of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren Courtney Giardina of Rochester, NY and Dayna and Emma Samuels of Ventura, CA; and great granddaughters Rowan and Gwendolyn Giardina. A graveside service at Venice Memorial Gardens will be held on Tuesday, August 12th at 11 AM. Memorial donations may be made to the Chabad of Venice.
