Leonard Reed Rogers, age 68, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away peacefully in Venice, Florida on February 23, 2012 after an extended illness. He was born on April 11, 1943 in Muncie where he graduated from Muncie Central High School. He retired from Indiana Steel & Wire as a Die Maker after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Muncie and enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing golf, watching Central and I.U. basketball and spending time with family and friends. After his retirement he and his wife, Joellen wintered in Venice, Florida for the past ten years. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joellen; two children, Christina (Kate Spenner) Rogers of Bradenton, Florida, Toby Rogers of Middletown, Indiana; three step-daughters, Krista (Paul) Grove of Albany, Indiana, Kathy (Rich) Garringer of Ridgeville, Indiana, Kelly (Scott) Covey of Granger, Indiana; one sister, Mary (Ron) Reitenour of Westerville, Ohio. He also leaves behind one grandson, Taylor Rogers of Middletown, Indiana; six step-grandchildren, Whitney Grove, Kyleigh Grove and Ethan Grove all of Albany, Indiana, Ryan Lykins of Parker City, Indiana, Elissa Covey of Granger, Indiana, Malorey Grove of Dallas, Texas, one niece of Ohio, one nephew of California and several cousins. A memorial service for family and friends will be held in Muncie at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Florida is handling the arrangements.
