Louis M. Ricchezza died peacefully in Venice, Florida in the early hours of Saturday morning, July 20, 2013 after a long illness. He was 85 years old.
Louis was born in Waterbury, CT on March 4, 1928 to the late Ferdinand and Vincenza Ricchezza, the youngest of seven children.
He is survived by one brother, Anthony Ricchezza of Wolcott, CT; his daughters, Jacqueline Boisse of Venice, FL; Karen Cook and Louise Ricchezza, of Sarasota, FL; his son, Vincent Ricchezza, of Troy, IL; his grandchildren, Naomi Venturi and Stacia Venturi of Leominster, MA; Ryan Ricchezza of Fitchburg, MA; Anthony Shea of Sarasota, FL; Brandon Ricchezza Sivage of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Curtis Cook of Leominster, MA; Cristina Serrano of Davie, FL; Eric Ricchezza and Catherine Ricchezza of Troy, IL and a great-granddaughter, Taylor Venturi Matthews of Leominster, MA.
Louis lived in Waterbury, CT until he joined the United States Marine Corp. in 1945. He served in China, Korea, and Okinawa and received many medals for his foreign service to his country. He was also stationed in Hingham, MA, Boston, MA, Camp Lejeune, NC, Cherry Point, NC, New Bern, NC, and then to Parris Island, SC, where he was a Senior Drill Instructor. Finally, he was stationed in Ft. Devens, MA and retired as a recruiter in Fitchburg, MA in 1966. He settled in Leominster, MA until he moved to Venice, FL in 2012.
After retirement from the Marine Corp., he opened his own successful electronic business, ""Lou's TV and Antenna Service"" until his final retirement.
Louis enjoyed many personal pursuits. His first love was music and he was self taught in the guitar and played the keyboard and recorded his own CD's. He was an avid artist of oil paintings and created wonderful holiday ceramics. He loved growing flowers, reading books, networking online with his many email friends and playing cards which he enjoyed until the time of his death.
