Lydia Gonzalez
Apr 12, 1932 — Oct 10, 2014
Lydia Gonzalez, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2014. Lydia was born on April 12, 1932 in Tampa, FL. As a role model, Lydia dedicated herself with a special Mother's love to raising her children leaving us with beautiful memories that we will always treasure and that will continue to guide us through life. All that we are, we owe to her.
Lydia later worked in Tampa for many years before retiring to Bradenton. Her beloved family and friends were Lydia's passion and delight. She loved music, dancing and spending time at the beach.
Lydia is survived by her children, Frank Gonzalez and wife Christine; Peggy McCurley and husband Hal; her sister Diane Alvarez and husband Joe; Niece Belinda Vilmure and husband Dave and their children, and Nephew Ken Tintera and wife Jocelyn. She also leaves behind other family members and friends whose lives touched her deeply.
Lydia requested a private cremation and burial. There will be a memorial remembrance in Tampa at a later date.
The family wishes to extend very heartfelt thanks to Mom's family of loving caregivers at Bay Breeze Rehab Center in Venice, FL for the support provided to her in her last few years of life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lydia's honor to the American Lung Association.
