Marcel E. Boisse

View Video Tribute Marcel E. Boisse (Marty) died suddenly but peacefully in his Venice, Florida home on Thursday night, February 16, 2012 after a long battle with heart disease. He was 78 years old. Marty was born in Ashburnham, MA on January 11, 1934 to the late Edward and Antoinette Boisse and is survived by his beloved wife, Jacqueline R. (Ricchezza) Boisse of 38 years; his daughters, Theresa Hebert and Patricia Boisse-Whigham, of Tucson, AZ, Antoinette Browne of Northport, FL; his sister, Georgette Champagne of Bearfoot Bay, FL, his brother, Francis Boisse of Greenville, NH; his sister, Germaine Melanson of Leominster, MA, his grandson, Jesse Hebert of Peoria, AZ; a great grandson, Nicholas Hebert of Tucson, AZ and many nieces and nephews. Marty lived most of his life in Leominster and had several successful careers in his lifetime. After his short service in the United States Marine Corp., he owned and ran several garage businesses. He was also a celebrated stock car racer at Westboro Speedway in the 1960’s. In 1969 Marty realized his lifelong dream of building and owning his own horse farm called Forty Acres Farm located off of Johnny Appleseed Lane along the Leominster/Lancaster line where he had a very successful riding stables and then later boarded horses. For a short time in the early 1970’s he owned and ran Marty’s Caf” on Water Street in Leominster. He also successfully bred and raced standardbred horses where in his 40’s and 50’s he became an owner/trainer and successful driver of pacers at the Foxboro Racetrack in MA, Meadowlands Racetrack in NJ and Pompano Park, FL. In 2006, Marty and his wife sold their farm in Leominster and retired to Venice, FL to enjoy the beautiful Florida weather and to pursue a long deserved life of leisure and personal pursuits.
