Margaret Caroline "Mema" Mccue
Jun 25, 1945 — Sep 2, 2017
Margaret Caroline McCue aka ""MEMA, age 72 was born in Manhattan, NYC on June 25, 1945 and came to Venice, FL from Islip, Long Island NY in 1978. She was preceded in death by her father Edward Kamarad. She is survived by her husband Walter Warren and three children, Robert and his wife Joy and two children, Bobby and Breanna; her daughter Michele McCue-Reopell and her husband Thomas and two children Kelli and Stephen; her son Warren and his wife Misa and two children, Kaya and Sayaka; her mother Elizabeth Smith and her sister Grace Ilardi both of Venice.
MEMA was very active in her Catholic faith and worked many activities at Epiphany Cathedral from 2001 to present. She visited the statue of the Blessed Mother at Our Lady of Lourdes on Center Road in Venice and prayed twice a week for release of the pain of shingles she had to deal with for years. She was a strong personality who put nonbelievers in their place and at the same time was a dotting Grandmother to her six grandchildren and their friends. Mema had a photographic memory when dealing with numbers and loved gambling in casinos and playing cards with friends. Mema was a second parent to many kids throughout our community. At times, there were many new faces at our dinner table. People from all around inquire about her on a weekly basis. Her most faithful companion in life has been her 15 yr old Bichon named Pookie. For all that knew her, loved her, for all who didn't, it is their loss. We were blessed to have had her for 18 ½ years longer than we should have. Thank you to everyone who helped with her care over the years, she was so appreciative to all involved.
