Maryann E McCreedy

Our beloved Maryann Elizabeth McCreedy passed away on June 28, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on September 1, 1947, to Robert Chapin McCreedy and Marion Coady, Maryann grew up in Smoke Rise, New Jersey. She was a proud graduate of West Virginia University in Morgantown, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. Later, she served as one of four core alumnae advisors for the re-established Alpha Chapter at Boston University.

Early in her career, Maryann worked for ExxonMobil in California before transitioning into Human Resources within the pharmaceutical industry. She held positions of increasing responsibility, first with SmithKline Beecham, where she spent significant time in the Greater Boston area supporting their diagnostic laboratories. When Quest Diagnostics acquired the company, Maryann moved to Philadelphia and ultimately to San Francisco, retiring as the Western Region HR Director in 2001.

Beyond her professional success, Maryann had a deep love for the ocean and sailing. After retiring, she remained in San Francisco to study and practice alternative medicine before eventually moving to Florida. A passionate activist, she was a dedicated member of Moms Demand Action and a supporter of Dress for Success, a global non-profit that provides professional attire and career development resources to women.

Maryann will be deeply missed by her friends and family. She is survived by her brother, Bruce McCreedy; her sister, Marilyn Sebold; her brother-in-law, Philip Sebold; and their four children and grandchildren.

In accordance with Maryann’s wishes, there will be no memorial service.
