Michael Maness Kasdan

Michael Maness Kasdan, 84, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on July 30, 2026.

Born on December 18, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, Michael lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, carrying the values of honor, discipline, and service with him throughout his life.

Following his military service, Michael built a career through many labor-intensive jobs, never shying away from hard work. His determination, resilience, and strong work ethic provided for his family and served as an example to all who knew him. He believed in earning an honest living and took pride in every job he did. Outside of work, Michael was an avid bowler who found great joy in the sport. Whether competing in leagues or simply enjoying time with friends and family at the lanes, bowling was one of his favorite pastimes and a passion he carried throughout his life.

Above all, Michael was a loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather. His greatest happiness came from spending time with his family, sharing stories, offering guidance, and creating memories that will be treasured forever. He touched countless lives through his generosity, quiet strength, sense of humor, and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Kasdan; his daughter, Ashley Shopp (Tom); his cherished grandchildren, Bayley, Hayden, and Trey; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, along with many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Fleser; his father, Charles Kasdan; his sister, Bonita Hopp; his brother, Jack Kasdan; and his beloved son, Wayne Kasdan.

Michael's legacy is one of love, perseverance, and selfless devotion to his family. He will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, infectious smile, and the countless ways he made life better for those around him. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

A Celebration of Life will be announced by the family at a later date.
