Mildred Dejonge

Mildred I. DeJonge, 91, of Venice, FL, formerly of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away on June 18, 2017. Mildred was born on June 16, 1926 in Rudyard, MI to Jake and Cora Van Sloten. She was a homemaker and located to Florida in 1984. Mildred was a wonderful Christian woman who loved her family dearly. She was a talented seamstress and baker. One of her greatest pleasures was to sit at the piano and play hymns for hours. Survivors include her husband, Lester DeJonge, of Venice, FL; daughters Alana (Dave) DeJonge of TX and Evelyn (Rick) St. Pierre of CA; son, Henry (Eileen) DeJonge of FL; brother, Floyd Van Sloten of Rudyard, MI; sisters, Wilma Decker of Bradenton, FL and Beaulah Beacom of Nokomis, FL; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Bethany Christian Services because of her love for children at www.bethany.org.
