Mildred Cecil Conlin Past Eaton Peck, 102, of North Port, Florida, passed away peacefully November 9, 2017. Mildred was born the middle child of seven in Syracuse, New York, on September 5, 1915, to Cecil (nee Purdy) and Harry Conlin. Mildred is the last survivor of her generation. She was brought up in the Valley, married, and raised her family in Solvay, New York. Mildred was a pioneer for women in business. She was the first woman in Syracuse to be the first lady of insurance, receiving her CLU (Certified Life Underwriter) degree. She served on many boards for women including Zonta and CPS. She was an office manager for Mass. Mutual Life Insurance Co. until she retired in 1979. Mildred was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in North Port. She was preceded in death by her son Nick C. Past and husbands Nicholas Past, Burrows Eaton, and William Peck. Survivors include her daughter Virginia Past Kronen of Solvay, New York; 4 grandchildren: SFC (R) David (Heather) Krause, Kevin Krause (Beth Lancer) , Nicole Auza, and Tony Past; 3 great-grandchildren: Johnathon and Lawton Krause, and Joshua Auza; step-daughters Dede Fisk of Glendale, California and Sharon Peck of Syracuse, New York; step-son Richard B. Eaton of Rochester, New York and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Francis House, 108 Michaels Avenue, Syracuse, New York 13208.
