Nina Guriak

Nina Guriak, 99, of North Port, Fl. Died Sunday, March 18, 2018, in North Port Fl. She was born January 8, 1919 in Krolevetz, Ukraine, and moved to North Port from Brookhaven, Pa. in 1984. Before her retirement she was a seamstress/tailor at Pete Bartkow Tailoring Inc, a major manufacturer of military uniforms & contracted by numerous military branches of United States (USA), She worked there for 25 years. She was an active member of the Ukrainian Baptist Church of North Port, also the Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Church in Crum Lynne, Pa. for 30 years. She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Ron) Byrd of North Port Fl.; Daughter in law, Barbara Guriak of Jacksonville, Fl.; 5 grandchildren, Christine Byrd of North Port, Fl.; Ronnie Byrd Jr. Of Nokesville, Va.; Duane (Katie) Byrd of Soquel Ca.; Alex Guriak III of Jacksonville, Fl.; Jeremy Guriak of Jacksonville, Fl.; 3 Great Granddaughters, Molly (Phil) Weller of North Port, Fl.; Stephenie Byrd of Palm Harbor, Fl.; Monica Lester of Jacksonville, Fl.; 2 great great grandchildren, Amelia and Brody Weller of North Port, Fl. She was Preceded in death by her husband Alex Guriak, and her son Alex Guriak Jr. Funeral Service will be at Gulf Pines Memorial Park, March 23, at 10 am.
