Patsy L. Drost-Brown

Patsy L. Drost-Brown, age 61, of Nokomis, met her savior on April 11, 2014. A longtime resident of the beautiful Nokomis area, she was a graduate of VeniceHigh School. Patsy was a proud member and selfless supporter of The Bridge Church in Venice. She fostered a lifelong connection and love for the outdoors and was happiest when she was camping or on the water with her family or friends. The English language fails us in times like this. To say that Patsy will be missed by all of her friends and family does not come close to explaining the absence that will be felt, for years to come, by those that loved her dearly. To say that there was no better Wife, Mother, Sister, or Friend is a great understatement. Her magnificent heart loved every soul that crossed her path unconditionally and without judgement. She was a mother to more than just her own children, providing a warm and loving home, open to anyone in need of it. Her deep and genuine, devoted love for her family, friends, and children’s friends was unwaivering in the face of struggle and adversity, matched and exceeded only by her love for Christ. Her faith-full strength was incomparable throughout her entire life, but, became awe-insipiring during the past few months of her relentless fight to live. She was our rock and will forever be the voice in our heads and hearts moving us, constantly, to become better humans in the face of God. She will be survived by her loving husband, Scott Brown; her beloved children Kelly Drost, Jake Drost, and Katie Drost; brothers Tommy McDonald , Jerry McDonald, and Phil McDonald; sisters Shirley Perry, and Margaret Shepherd; her dear grandchildren, Taj Kurvin and Khya Lykins, as well as her children’s loving father, Hank Drost, and her devoted brothers and sisters in the Drost family. A service is scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd at 2 p.m. at the VeniceNokomisUnitedMethodistChurch with a celebration of Pat's life following at 2920 Rustic Rd. Nokomis. Bring your fishing poles and musical instruments! In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the foundation conceived and started by Patsy ""LifeHouse For Youth"" a rehabilitation and mentoring program for troubled and addicted teens.
