Patt Burruss
Jan 13, 1923 — Jul 6, 2014
Patt Burruss was a strong, vibrant woman. She had a full, satisfying life that she, family, and friends can be proud of.
Born and raised in New York City, Patt graduated from New York University with a major in physical education. In her younger years, she was a high school physical education teacher in Montgomery County, Maryland, serving as a role model, mentor, and inspiration for countless young women. Later she was a diplomat's wife in Germany and Paris, France. After France, she was a highly successful Realtor in Bethesda, Maryland, and operated her own real estate brokerage firm, Pat Perusse Realty.
Still later, Patt married Ron Burruss and they had 34 happy years together, dividing their time among homes in Illinois, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Florida. They lived in Sarasota for most of that time. Patt later moved to Jacaranda Trace in Venice, where she died peacefully at home at age 91.
Patt is lovingly remembered by two sisters, Theresa Roseman and Catherine Buchner; her son, Cliff Perusse; her daughter, Dawn Perusse; and her grandchildren, Tricia and Christopher Vinkler. Another daughter, Nancy Vinkler, predeceased her.
Join us in celebrating our mother's life and remembering how she touched so many lives throughout her own life. There will be a Celebration of Life in the Arts & Crafts room at Jacaranda Trace, 3799 Cadbury Circle, Venice, FL, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18th. For directions, call Cliff Perusse at 415-609-4799.
