Peter D Sayer

Peter D. Sayer of Venice, FL, formerly of Ridgefield, CT, and Alexandria, VA, passed away on July 15.

Son of Donald and Georgia Sayer, he and his twin David were born on August 18, 1937, and raised in Garden City, NY. With two degrees in architecture from Miami University of Ohio, Pete enjoyed a long and notable career designing residential and commercial properties.

After retiring he relocated to Venice where he turned a mid-century bungalow into a classic modern contemporary. He shared his exceptional talents with the Venice Theater – behind the scenes – and the Venice Chorale.

He leaves a son Chris (Melissa) and daughter Patricia (Joe Ryan), all of California, four grandsons, devoted partner Gene Bokern of Nokomis, and brothers Don (Carmella) of Georgetown, Texas, and Dave (Degen) of Venice. A celebration of Pete’s life is being planned, the details of which will be added to this web listing when available.
