Robert Michael Kupec

Robert Michael Kupec was born on August 29, 1947, in Indiana, while his parents were visiting relatives, the only child of Anne and Michael Kupec. Bob (later called “Kups” by his childhood friends) spent his early years on East 17th Street in Manhattan, NYC. He attended The Epiphany Parish Grammar School on East 22nd street, where he made many lifelong friends. He was a boy scout in the troop led by his father.

 After Epiphany, Bob attended Bishop Dubois High School in northern Manhattan, and thereafter The University of Dayton, where he graduated in 1969 with a BA in Business Administration. Again, Bob made many lifelong friends among the “Flyers” of “UD”.

After Dayton, Bob began work for NY Telephone Co.  and eventually became an employee of AT&T and Lucent Technology, where he spent most of his professional career in marketing and sales. After retiring in the early 2000s, Bob began a second career in NJ as a real estate appraiser, specializing in residential property.

In 1975, Bob met Victoria Pascarella, celebrating over 50 years together. Bob and Vicky first lived in Stuyvesant Town, a private residential complex on the east side of Manhattan. Thereafter they moved to Short Hills, NJ, and eventually, in retirement, to Venice, Florida.

While Bob enjoyed city and suburban life, he hit his stride in Venice. There, he became an active member of the Venice Yacht Club, and a supporter of the Venice Theater. Bob really enjoyed golfing in Venice, as well as attending the many adult education courses and seminars offered in the area. He and Vicky attended and supported numerous arts organizations in Sarasota County. His sense of humor, bright smile, and playful twinkle in his eye were cherished by family and friends alike. He had a gift for bringing happiness to those around him and leaves behind countless memories filled with love and laughter.
