Roberta G. Williams

Roberta G. Williams, formerly of Pittsford, NY, died Feb. 29, 2016. Born Roberta G. Collett, Jan 2, 1930 in Endicott, NY, to Stella & Robert Collett. Roberta graduated from the University of Rochester School of Nursing and Syracuse University with a BS degree in Nursing Ward Management & Triage. She worked as a nurse in New York City and San Diego before marrying Philip A. Tinder and eventually moving to upstate NY, where they raised a family in Pittsford, NY. After moving from Pittsford to Nokomis, FL in 1999, Roberta maintained her interest in the Audubon Society, Orchid Society, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and several activities in The Inlets community, all of which benefited from her volunteerism and wonderfully opinionated, yet charming personality! She is survived by her sons Robert P. Tinder and Michael A. Tinder; her daughter-in-law Gina Tinder; grandchildren Andrew, Jessica, Mary and Katherine; sister Rita Snodgrass. Services will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Thursday, March 3, at 10AM. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 513 S. Nassau St, Venice, FL 34285.
