Ronald James "Jim" Childs

He was born in Toronto, Canada on August 7, 1932. He served as a pilot in the RCAF. After leaving the service, Jim was a pilot for United Airlines, retiring in 1992. Jim enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity. He also enjoyed biking, boating, and flying. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Jim is survived by his wife, Irene, of Venice; son Steven Childs (Jean) of Marietta, GA; daughter Marilyn Rhude of Sandwich, MA; step children Barbara Fox (Russell) of Mooresville, NC and Kathleen Gianniti of Milford, CT; grandchildren Mackenzie, Ryan, Paul James, Christopher, and Lauren, and brother Edward Childs (Leslie) of Amherst, Nova Scotia. Jim is predeceased by his first wife, Margaret. A memorial gathering will be held at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel, on Sunday, March 3rd. Visitation 2 ââ‚"" 3 PM; service at 3 PM.
