Ruth Mock Durham

Ruth was the daughter of Theodor and Loni Hoelzemann, born in Essen, Germany. She emigrated with her parents to Detroit, MI. in Her father was employed by Henry Ford to do private projects. Ruth met her future husband, Robert Mock, at age 14 and they married in April 1942 during a military furlough. They were together 43 years. She had a brief second marriage to William Durham before he passed away. Ruth moved to Venice permanently so she could be closer to family and is survived by daughter Carol Lehrman, son in law Robert Lehrman and grandson Theodore Lehrman. Ruth loved animals and belonged to several animal welfare organizations. She enjoyed mahjong, cards, reading and travel. Shows a classy, beautiful lady. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the East Coast Humane Society, 503 Tamiami Tr. South, S.5 Venice 34285), ASPCA or the National Wildlife Organization. There will be a ceremony at 11 AM, Friday, January 12 at Sarasota National Cemetery.
