Therese (Teri) Mary Craft, 89, of North Port, Florida, passed away on January 4, 2017. Teri was born to Dominick and Nancy Valenti on August 14, 1927 in Yonkers, New York. On September 20, 1950 she married William (Bill) Joseph Craft, also of Yonkers, NY. In 1956, they moved to Milan, Michigan where she raised her family. Teri always had a smile on her face and enjoyed having a house full of activity. She entered the workplace and enjoyed working with people in the retail setting (Vescio’s Market, JC Penney, JL Hudson). In 1980 they moved to Port Richey, Florida and in 1988 settled in North Port. In both towns Teri enjoyed a variety of occupations where she could meet and work with new people.
Teri is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bill, her sister Lillian Denise, and both of her parents.
Teri is survived by her five children, Christine Craft of North Port, Donna Markham of Sarasota, Bill Craft (Jo) of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Jim Craft of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Bob Craft of North Port; her brothers and sisters, Carmine Valenti, Josephine LaSorsa (Nick), Benjamin Valenti and Nancy Costello; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Teri was Catholic and would be touched to know that you said a rosary for her. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Teri and Bill is being planned for the National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida, the date is being arranged. Burial arrangements will be handled through Farley Funeral Home in North Port, FL. Specific date will be provided by the immediate family.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
