Thomas G. "T.C." Coulombe

Thomas G. Coulombe, Sr., 67, passed away suddenly June 27th. Tom, or TC as he was often called, was born in Boston, Massachusetts in June, 1948 to George and Clare Coulombe. He was raised in Hillsdale, New Jersey. He graduated with a Bachelor's from Seton Hall University in 1972. While in college, he took a year to travel with Up With People. He actively served in the Marine Corps in 1972 through 1978 but remained in the Reserves until the early 1990s. After his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, Tom moved his wife and family to Venice, Florida. He began his 26 year career with Venice Police Department in 1980. After retiring from the police department, he worked part-time as a deli clerk at Publix. Tom has been an active member of the Venice community. He helped with the Venice High School USMC JROTC program and was a VHS Band Dad. Tom spent some time as a council member of Epiphany Cathedral Church. He also was active with 4H and over the years helped his children raise horses, rabbits, pigs, chickens and steers. Tom was a man of many passions. He was a movie fanatic, an avid book reader, a history buff, a diehard Tampa Bay Lightning fan and he enjoyed traveling. He often shared odd history tidbits and appreciated a good joke. Tom loved horses and living in the country. He always dreamed of owning an Arabian horse and a few years ago purchased 2 Arabians, Aana and Pasha. Anyone who met Tom knew of his love of music. He had an extensive music collection, an impressive guitar collection and was a member of 2 bands; he played with the Epiphany Cathedral Church and with Fox Run Trio. Tom was also an active alumni member of Up With People. He loved singing, playing and sharing his love of music with others. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Bernadette Coulombe, his sister, Shadow Grey, his 7 children, Clare Jorge, Michelle Krizen, Margaret Conte, Thomas G. Coulombe, Jr., Mary Coulombe, Robert Coulombe, and Sheila Coulombe and 13 grand-children, Andrew, Tyler, Ben, Ethan, Katharina, Cheyenne, Christine, Madison, Alexander, Brennan, Joshua, Cecelia, and Matthew. He was expecting his 14th grand-child in January. In lieu of flowers, the family is would prefer donations to the Wounded Warrior Project and the Up With People scholarship fund.
