Thomas J. "Tom" Peacock, Jr.

Born September 27, 1942 passed away on September 25, 2014 with his wife and family by his side. Tom was born and raised in Bradenton, Florida where he played football for Coach Wheeler Leeth at Manatee High School. He graduated in 1960 after earning a scholarship to the University of Richmond. Tom was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, played football, earned his degree in accounting (and had some fun) at Richmond before coming back to Bradenton in 1965 to begin his professional career. It was in Bradenton where he met and fell in love with his future wife Elaine. A short while after marrying, the couple moved to Venice and began to establish their roots. Tom started a CPA firm in the 70s. It was a family business that he truly did love. He had tremendous appreciation for his clients and the employees that worked for him. He was pleased to have his son Frank follow in his footsteps when he joined the firm as a CPA. Tom coached for the Venice Vikings and volunteered for other organizations. He leant his hand behind the scenes and helped when he could. He was very proud of his son John sharing in his love of football by becoming the Head Football Coach for Venice High School. Tom was an influential and dedicated member of the Venice community. He enjoyed family, fishing, a bad game of golf, country music and ‘cutting up' with his friends. Tom leaves behind many loved ones, including his wife Elaine, two sons, Frank (Tricia), John (Georgia) and six grandchildren, Kendall, Dalton, Justice, Maddy, Mariah and Mikey. A scholarship fund will be established for student athletes in Tom's memory. Services will be held Wednesday, October 1st, at 4:00 at the Venice Nokomis Methodist Church; 208 Palm Avenue, Nokomis.
