Thomas A. Wright

View Video Tribute Thomas A. Wright, 86, formerly of Sarasota, FL and Agawam, MA, passed away peacefully at home on January 23, 2012. He was born in Springfield, MA and attended Technical High school. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was stationed at Pearl Harbor, and was on Midway Island for 2 years helping re-establish the island after the Battle of Midway. He also served on the USS Larch. He graduated from Bainbridge Electrical School in Maryland. After the war ended, he helped decommission battleships. He retired 25 years ago after 46 years with New England Tel & Tel and Verizon. His greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife, childhood sweetheart Geraldine (Roos) Wright, of 64 years; daughter Patricia Ball (James) of Osprey, FL; son Thomas Wright (Laurie) of Dover, DE; sister June Hall (Donald) of Ft. Pierce, FL; granddaughter Adrienne Sanders (Teddy); grandson Aaron Wright; granddaughter Amanda Wright; great-grandson Thomas Sanders; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Everett and Carl. He leaves many dear friends and his greatest pleasure was in helping them. He touched many people and will be greatly missed.
