Victor R. Ricketson, Sr.

Victor R. Ricketson, Sr., of Rotonda West, Florida, passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 79. He was born on April 18, 1947, in Kingston, New York, and moved to Rotonda West in 1999.

Victor worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Ulster County Highway Department for 25 years before retiring in 1995. He was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. Victor loved the old classic and antique cars. He also greatly enjoyed the auto races.

Victor is survived by his wife of Rotonda West, Florida, Joyce Ricketson; daughter, Holly Ricketson of Rotonda West, Florida; son, Victor R. Ricketson, Jr. of Englewood, Florida; daughter-in-law, Angela Philhower of Englewood, Florida; grandchildren, Crystalyn Grant and Jonathan Ricketson, both of North Port, Florida; great-grandchildren, Jaylyn Jean Grant and Janna Marie Grant; sister, Joan Eigo of Kingston, New York; and brother, Bruce Ricketson of Kingston, New York. He also leaves behind two nieces and a nephew.

Victor was preceded in death by his father, Victor Ricketson; his mother, Joan Zeidler Ricketson; and his sister, Diane Ricketson.

A private graveside service with military honors will be held for family and close friends at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
