Virginia H. Emmons, age 95, formerly of North Port, Florida, passed away on January 11, 2012 in Burleson, Texas. She was born on May 18, 1916 in Detroit, Michigan. She moved to North Port in 1986 from Grand Prairie, Texas. Virginia was a member of the American Sewing Guild, Foreign Service Association and member of San Pedro Catholic Church in North Port. She is survived by her two sisters, Sylvia Kayden of Burleson, Texas and Valeria Kayden of Venice, Florida. She also leaves behind a niece, Pamela Babcock of Burleson, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Venice. Entombment will follow at Venice Memorial Gardens. Farley Funeral Home in North Port is handling the arrangements.
