William Hyland

William ""Roy"" L. Hyland, born January 18, 1939 to William A. and Evelyn (Rue) Hyland in Pemberton, NJ. Roy graduated from Teaneck High School in Teaneck, NJ. He proudly served his country on the USS the Sullivans and graduated from Rutgers University. Mr. Hyland worked at GTE in Stamford, CT as a Senior Vice President until his retirement. He and his wife Anne relocated to the Venice Golf and Country Club in Venice where they resided for over 20 happy years. Roy is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Anne (Engels) Hyland; daughters Laura, and her husband, Keith Wicks, and Lynne and her husband, George Hamm. He has three grandchildren to cherish his memory, Kelly Rothermel, Sarah Wicks, and Michael Pierce. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard (Sue), Ronnie (Dorothy); and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the Venice Crisis Team at TideWell Hospice for their outstanding and compassionate care. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 28th at 12:30 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery. Farley Funeral Homes & Crematory is handling arrangements.
