Cindy Louise Kelly

Cindy Kelly passed away peacefully the evening of April 30, 2026, surrounded by family. She traveled lightly through the world-loving people, loving nature, and finding beauty in the simple things.

Cindy Louise (Dunn) Kelly was born April 23, 1957, to Sam and Dorothy Dunn, joining siblings Steve, Kathy, and DeeAnn. A year later, her little brother Tim arrived, completing the lively Dunn crew. The family lived on a dairy farm on the state line between Graveyard Point and Succor Creek, where Cindy spent her early years exploring wide-open spaces and soaking in the joys of country life. She attended school in Adrian until the family moved to Payette when she was 10, and later to Homedale, where she continued her schooling and made even more friends along the way. Cindy had a gift for making any place feel brighter. Whether she was tending bar or waiting tables at the Payette Golf Course or Orphan Annie’s in Caldwell, she greeted everyone with a smile that came straight from the heart. She never met a soul she couldn't connect with. Her easygoing nature and warm spirit made her a natural in the service industry, where people were drawn to her kindness and her laughter.

From the day she was born, Cindy was a ball of energy. She loved life in a way that made others love it too. She was a free spirit who enjoyed hunting for rocks, discovering treasures at second hand stores, and chasing down bargains with her dear friend Reta Sorrell. The two of them put plenty of miles on their cars, sharing stories, laughter, and adventures. She also loved spending time at the Parma Senior Center, enjoying good food, good company, and whatever entertainment the day brought. Occasionally, she had time to stop by her office at the Mirage to visit friends Lucinda Borge and Gale Papp to make payments on the mechanical Oregon Tax Collectors.

Cindy understood the true meaning of life and she loved her friends and family unconditionally-- because for Cindy, life was meant to be lived fully and joyfully.

Cindy loved to fish and camp. Many times she was the first one up to cook breakfast and the one of the last ones telling stories around the fire. She also enjoyed competition fishing in the Lady Bass and Jack and Jill tournaments. Her biggest thrill was out-fishing her husband.

On June 3, 1984, Cindy married her love (and favorite catch) Mike Kelly and their adventure began. Together they had 2 wild and wonderful boys Matt and Tim and welcomed Mike’s beloved and spirited son Greg as part of their family. Together, they all made their home in the Roswell area, filling it with shenanigans, laughter, and the kind of memories that last forever. She spent her recent years in retirement playing with and fawning over her beloved grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of love.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Dorothy Dunn; her brother Tim Dunn; her in-laws, Creighton and Marie Kelly; and Mike’s brothers, Fred and Pat Kelly. And, her feisty niece Stacy Kelly.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Kelly; her children Greg and Cassie Kelly of Homedale, Matt Kelly of Roswell, and Tim Kelly and Jenn Sullens of Parma. She leaves behind grandchildren Dakota Luby (Jaeger), Hunter Luby (great-grandson), Cash Kelly (grandson) and Harper Kelly (granddaughter) and Sisters-in-Law Pam Kelly (Fred) and Sharon Kelly (Pat). She also leaves many nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Cindy and will miss her bright spirit dearly. Cindy is also survived by her siblings: Steve Dunn of Cheney, Washington; Kathy Dunn of Crystal River, Florida; and DeeAnn Breach (Floyd Breach) of Given Springs, Idaho.

Cindy lived her life with an open heart and a joyful spirit. Those who knew her will carry her sunshine with them always.

A life so well lived, deserves to be celebrated well. For this reason, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
