Clara Elizabeth Lancaster
Jul 18, 1938 — Feb 23, 2026
Clara Elizabeth Lancaster, 87, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed away February 23, 2026. She was a woman of grace and enduring love, leaving a legacy that will continue through generations.
Born on July 18, 1938, in Payette, she was the cherished daughter of Earl Warden and Goldie (Crume) Warden. Clara was a devoted sister and is survived by her siblings: Argyl (Anita) Warden, Anna May Wilkinson, and Dorothy (Larry) Spurling. She was preceded in death by her other siblings: Leonard Warden, Edward Warden, John Warden, Arthur Warden, Don Warden, Norman Warden, Norma Culbertson, and Ruth Trostel.
On July 21, 1956, Clara began a lifelong journey of devotion when she married her beloved husband, Lyle Kent Lancaster. Together, they built a family founded on strength and faith, eventually moving from their roots in Idaho to Defiance, Ohio. It was there that they spent the majority of their lives raising their four sons and developing deep, lasting friendships that became an extension of their family. Though Lyle preceded her in death, the bond they shared in remained the cornerstone of her life.
Clara’s greatest pride was her four sons. She is survived by two sons, both from Caldwell, Idaho: Barry Lancaster and his wife, Susan, and Jon Lancaster, and his wife, Susan. Two of her sons, both from Ohio, passed before Clara: Alan Lancaster, whose wife, Lisa, remains part of the family, and Jerry Lancaster and his late wife, Robin.
Clara’s life was further enriched by the laughter and love of her 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, with the joyful anticipation of one great-great grandchild on the way.
A pillar of her family, Clara Elizabeth Lancaster will be remembered for her spirit and the boundless love she gave to all who knew her. Along with her famous chocolate chip cookies everyone loved and nobody could replicate and have the cookies turn out as delicious as her cookies.
Clara was a dedicated member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses – her life was defined by her commitment to sharing the “good news of the Kingdom.” She found great joy in her ministry, firmly believing the promise found at Revelation 21:4, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.”
A Memorial Talk will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1702 Marble Front Road in Caldwell, Idaho on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
