Deborah Ann Gretz

Deborah ‘Debbie’ Gretz of Nampa, Idaho, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, at the age of 66. She was born on September 28, 1959, to Beverly (Gowing) & Alvie Lanfear, in Caldwell, Idaho. After graduating from New Plymouth High School in 1977, Debbie worked for a bowling alley, Idaho Humane Society, Idaho Fish & Game, and also served a term as a board member for the Middleton Public Library, where she also volunteered. But her big passion ended up being working for children, having spent nearly 3 decades working as a lunch lady at various schools in the Middleton school district. She married Charles Gretz on April 16, 1983, and together they shared nearly 36 years together, until his passing in 2019. Debbie loved gardening, reading, and spending time in her kitchen trying new recipes. She is survived by her children Michael, Jason (Alison), and Abby, her brother Les (Annetta) Lanfear, sister Sandy (Manuel) Berain, and grandchildren Maisie Gretz & Liam Sheldon.

 A funeral service will be held at Flahiff Funeral Chapel at 624 Cleveland Boulevard, Caldwell, on July 28, 2026, at 10am. Graveside services will be held afterwards at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 15826 S. Indiana Avenue, Caldwell, at 11:30am.
