Imogene Lane Emerson

Imogene Lane Emerson, 96, of Riverside, Idaho, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on August 6, 2026, in her home of seventy years. Imogene was born in Stillwell, Oklahoma, on July 4, 1930, and moved with her parents and two sisters along with members of their extended family to Idaho during the Dust Bowl migration. Her parents, Troy and Bertha Lane, ran a small dairy farm that borders the Snake River just outside of Marsing. Imogene and her sisters attended Marsing High School, and that is where she met her lifetime love, Paul Emerson. 

Paul and Imogene graduated in 1948, were married in 1949, and welcomed their son, Doug, in 1951, while they were living in Homedale. Their second son, Jeff, was born in 1957, and they took over the dairy farm from Imogene’s parents in 1960. They were married for 71 years. Paul passed away in 2020.

Imogene and Paul worked side by side running their dairy farm for over thirty years. They were active members of their church and community. Imogene was a beloved Mother to her sons, Gram to six, Grandma Great to ten, as well as loving Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Sister-in-Law to a large extended family.

Imogene leaves a legacy of laughter, love, and faith. She spent her 96 years well and left all who knew her better off for it. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 11:00 am at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 27 E. Owyhee Avenue in Homedale, with a graveside service to immediately follow at the Marsing-Homedale Cemetery. A reception dinner will be held at the Txoko Ona Basque Center in Homedale following graveside services. Services are under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale. (208) 459-0833
