James Donald Stults

James Donald Stults was born on September 24, 1942, in Caldwell, Idaho, to Don and Mary Anne Stults. James passed away on January 7, 2026, while surrounded by his family.

James was the oldest of six children. Jim’s early beginnings were in Jordan Valley and then moved to Bend, Prineville, Marsing, and finally, Ontario, where he graduated high school in 1960.

After high school, Jim followed his sweetheart, Joanne M. Barker, to Idaho Falls and in July of 1964, they married. While living in Idaho Falls, their son, Michael, was born in 1965. Shortly after, they moved to Marsing where Robert was born in 1968 and Patti in 1972. In 1975, Jim moved his family to Caldwell where he spent the rest of his life.

James is survived by his wife, Joanne; and their children: Michael (Kris) Stults, Robert (Angie) Stults, and Patti (Brandon) Frasier; six grandchildren: Azzia (Blaine) Lamberson, Shae (Brad) Perkins, Elizabeth Frasier (fiancé, Josh Schmidt), Clayton (Becca) Frasier, Amia (Matthew) Edgar, and Bridger (Lacey) Stults; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Joeseph (Nellda) Stults and Chuck (Kellie) Stults; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John; sister, Elizabeth; parents, Don and Mary Anne; and brother, Bill.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Donette Morgan, the staff at Autumn Wind Assisted Living, and Idaho Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 624 Cleveland Blvd. in Caldwell, with a graveside service to immediately follow at Marsing-Homedale Cemetery. Services are under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. (208) 459-0833
