Paula Marie Tiegs

Aug 1, 1946 — Oct 27, 2026

Paula Tiegs of Greenleaf, Idaho, passed away October 27, 2026, after a 9-month ordeal with Myasthenia Gravis with her family at her side.

She was born on August 1, 1946, and spent her youth growing up in Priest River, Idaho, graduating from Priest River High School. She graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in business education in 1968. She belonged to the Tri-Delt Sorority.

Bruce eyed Paula in September 1967 in a shared business class. However, Paula was the one to ask Bruce to go to a sorority dance after chickening out to ask her first two choices. Years later, neither Bruce nor Paula could remember the location of their shared class and often engaged in spirited debates about the classroom location. She married him on June 7, 1969. Paula fiercely loved and cared for their children, Jeffrey and Jill.

After several jobs in the first few years, she was employed by Roger Bros. Seed Co. for 20 plus years. She often joked that she ended her career with four 5-year service awards each with a different company name even though it was the same company.

Paula shared her love of reading, sci-fi movies, and fantasy TV shows with her son, Jeff “Short-Shank.” And, she really enjoyed taking long walks and mother-daughter trips with Jill, “Yard-Bird.”

Paula valued family and friends above all else and wanted to be included in everyone’s “action.” She was her happiest surrounded by her family including all her nieces and nephews.

Paula loved playing games, traveling (especially the Oldies Cruises), concerts and her “Ladies on the Loose” of which she was the instigator resulting in 20 years of wonderful adventures for all. She enjoyed the beading friendship group, dancing and picking huckleberries. She was a prolific “beader”; she made all sorts of Christmas ornaments, Peyote panels, and other integrate beaded projects.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce; children, Jeff (Jaqi) Tiegs and Jill (Tom) English; grandchildren: Lucas (Bree) English, Maxine English, and Kyleah McCoy; brother, Leroy (Artie) Cook; sister, Colleen (Gus) Johnson; and many nephew and nieces. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Gist Cook Treat; stepfather, Orville Treat; and sister, Mary (Paul) Treat-Winn.
