Raquel “Rachel” Rodriguez, 67, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on March 30, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory her brothers: Juan Rodriguez, Antonio Rodriguez, and Joe Rodriguez; her sisters, Elisa Puga and Gracie Waters; her children: Mari Razo, Pedro Toscano, and Veronica Toscano; her grandchildren: Alexis Toscano, Jada Ponce, Yazmine Ponce, Raul Torres Jr., Nyelli Torres, Alexzea Sanchez, Elinayah Razo, Milah Razo, and Emmilyn Razo; and her great-grandchildren: Joziah, Ezra, and Violet Nila.
Rachel was born on January 13, 1959, in Hidalgo, Texas, to Galo and Maria Rodriguez, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Nicanor Rodriguez; her sisters, Maria Bustillos and Aurelia Rodriguez; her nieces and nephew: Rosa Sandoval, Leticia Lorta, and Nickolas Bustillos; and her great-granddaughter, Layla Ruby Valdez.
She attended school in the Wilder School District and later graduated from Boise State University, where she earned a degree in Business Administration.
Rachel found great joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the center of her world. She also had a special love for her dogs, Gizmo and Max, who brought her comfort and companionship. She enjoyed crafting and was known for her beautiful penmanship, a talent admired by many. Rachel had a love for dancing and a deep love for flowers, finding peace and happiness in their beauty.
She was a devoted mother who lived life with a spirited and sometimes mischievous nature. Though she faced her share of struggles, her love for her family never wavered. She had a witty, playful personality and a gift for lighthearted jabs that brought laughter to those around her.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 11:00 to 1:00 pm, with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 624 Cleveland Blvd. in Caldwell. Services are under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. (208) 459-0833
