Rose Marie Tropf
November 5, 1931 — May 23, 2026
Rose Marie Tropf, 94, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 23, 2026, in Caldwell, Idaho. Rose was born on November 5, 1931, in Julesburg, Colorado, to Heinrich Nicholas Claude Thode and Wilhelmina Bertha Patt.
Rose was raised in Vale, Oregon, and graduated high school. She married Bernard Rex Tropf on January 15, 1949, and they had three children together: Gary, Karen, and Mary. They raised them in Wilder until they moved to Caldwell.
Rose spent her years raising her children and grandchildren and worked as a teacher’s aide before her retirement at Washington School. After retirement, she volunteered at the hospital and with Meals on Wheels.
Her and Bernie loved to go camping and fishing and taking trips to the Oregon Coast. After his passing, she spent her time with her friends at the Caldwell Senior Center, and she took up painting and painted pictures for all of her friends and loved ones. She enjoyed the company of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and they loved hearing her stories and her life’s adventures.
Rose was the fourth child of six and she was the last one left. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard; her three children; and her siblings: Irvin, Delbert, Glen, Jack, and Ruth (Bratcher).
She is survived by ten grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
“Grandma, although you are gone, you will live in our hearts forever. We love you so much.”
Rose will be laid to rest with her husband, Bernard, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell, at a private family graveside service. Services are under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. (208) 459-0833
Beauty Tips by Audrey Hepburn
True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is in the caring she lovingly gives and the passion that she shows. And the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anybody.
For lovely lips, speak words of kindness.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge you’ll never walk alone.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands: one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to the heart, the place where love resides.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
