Terry Kent Martin

Terry Kent Martin passed away in Caldwell on May 10, 2026, at 6:00 a.m.

Born in San Francisco, Terry was brought home to Caldwell at just eight days old by his loving parents, Roy and Jennie Martin. He was raised on the family farm on Red Top Road, where he spent his early years farming and doing carpentry alongside his father and brother — values of hard work, dedication, and perseverance that stayed with him throughout his life.

Terry attended Vallivue School District before continuing his education at Northwest Nazarene University and later Boise State University, where he earned his Master’s degree in Public Affairs. He then pursued his law degree and doctorate at Whittier College. Terry went on to build a long and distinguished career in law, serving both in the OIG office and the Mayor’s Office. As an attorney, he earned numerous awards and the respect of many throughout his career.

From a young age, Terry was known for his strong will, determination, and athletic spirit. He excelled in football, baseball, and track, always giving his best in everything he pursued, eventually earning a scholarship through his athletic achievements.

While Terry accomplished so much professionally, the role he treasured most was being a husband, stepfather, uncle, and family man. He deeply loved being a stepdad to Cody and Dillon and took great pride in that role. He was a devoted uncle who shared a special bond with his niece and nephew, and he embraced their children with the same unconditional love, pride, and joy. Terry cherished long conversations, and the simple happiness of being surrounded by the people he loved most.

Above all, Terry will be remembered for his intelligence, strong will, generosity, humor, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Renea Martin; stepchildren, Cody Woeller and Dillon Woeller; his brother, Allen Martin, and sister-in-law, Meliah Martin; his nephew, Chad Martin, his wife, Ashley, and their children: Paisley, Layney, and Easton; and his niece, Janine Blank, her husband, Rob, and their children, Brody and Colby.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at 25669 Dapple Place in Middleton, Idaho.

In honor of Terry’s life, the family kindly asks that any donations be made to Huntsman Cancer Institute, Hope Lodge, American Cancer Society, or to any law school scholarship program.
