John Roy Neil

John Roy Neil, 78, of Marsing, died Wednesday, June 3, 2026. He was born in Nampa, Idaho, to Thelma E. Neil.

John met the love of his life, Doris Haskett, in 1970. They married August 6, 1972. They had two children: Jeffrey in May 1977 and Scott in September 1980.

Music played a major role in John’s life. He was a drummer and singer in several bands. He later composed some of his own music. He switched from music in night clubs to playing in worship groups. He loves Jesus and his music became his ministry. He shared his passion for Jesus with everyone.

John’s favorite hobby dealt with model aviation. He enjoyed RC planes, which started at a young age and continued through current times.

John is survived by his wife, Doris Neil; one brother, Gary Brayton; and two sons, Jeff (Crystal) and Scott (Alicia). He has eight grandchildren: Shantel, Kaytlynne, Jazmine, Zackarey, Ryan, Benjamin, Elijah, and Elanore; as well as three great grandchildren: James, Markus, and Cynthia.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:00 am at Marsing-Homedale Cemetery in Marsing. Arrangements are under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale. (208) 459-0833
