Terry Ray Waters

Jul 28, 1965 — Jun 18, 2026

Terry Ray Waters, age 60, entered eternal rest on June 18, 2026. He was born on July 28, 1965, in Bakersfield, California, to Ann Smith and Ray Waters. As the oldest child in the family, Terry was raised in Bakersfield, where he learned the values of hard work, humility, and loyalty that would guide him throughout his life.

Terry met and married Shelly Fricke in Bakersfield, California. From that union, two sons were born, Billy and Tommy. Although Terry and Shelly later divorced, Terry proudly raised his sons and remained devoted to them throughout his life. Shelly also preceded him in death.

In 1992, Terry moved to Idaho for employment at a local seed plant. It was there that he met Kimmy, who first became his best friend and later would marry the love of his life. Together they blended their families and created a loving family of seven, building a life filled with laughter, friendship, and cherished memories.

After the seed plant closed, Terry learned truck driving from his brother-in-law, Al. What began as a new career quickly became his passion. Terry loved life on the road and took great pride in being an Owner/Operator truck driver. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to providing for those he loved.

Terry loved Nascar, sitting in his shop listening to “good ole” country music, firing up the barbecue and spending time with family and friends.

Those who knew Terry will remember his kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering work ethic. He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, earning the respect and friendship of many throughout his life and keeping the value of a good ole handshake as your word.

Above all, Terry’s greatest joy was his family. His wife, Kimmy, was not only the love of his life but also his closest best friend. The life they built together was centered on family, loyalty, friendship, unconditional love, and many memories and adventures to cherish forever.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Ann Smith and Ray Waters.

He is survived by his beloved wife Kimmy Waters of Homedale, Idaho. Sons Bill Waters of Homedale, ID, Tommy (Amanda) Waters of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kevin Overton of Boise, Idaho, Kenny Overton of Boise, Idaho, Jennifer (James) Orr of Boise, Idaho; his brothers Eric, Mike and Joe of Bakersfield, California, his cherished grandchildren Elijah, Madeline, Olivia, Isabella, Sophia, Gwen, Jack, Annie, Creeden, Aceland, Oland, Jeremy, Melody, Liam and Dustin, as well as many other family members, friends and loved ones who will forever treasure his memory.

“Though Terry’s journey on earth has ended, his legacy of love, hard work, generosity, and devotion to family will in the hearts of all who knew him.”
