Joanne Deneen (Hind) Dannenmiller
Mar 21, 1943 — Aug 14, 2026
JoAnn Deneen (Hind) Dannenmiller, born March 21, 1943, in Seattle, Washington, to Joseph W. and Ruth Deneen Hind, passed away peacefully at Hospice House on Friday, August 14th, at the age of 83.
She grew up in Seattle and attended Lincoln High School, graduating with the Class of 1961. In June of 1963, she married Richard O. Dannenmiller at St. Benedict Church in Seattle. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and shared adventures.
In June 1972, JoAnn and Rick (Rod) moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. She became a valued member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, where she embraced the joys of life on the water—known affectionately as a “Salty Sister.” She also enjoyed an active life on land, especially as an avid tennis player who loved playing at the St. Petersburg Racquet Club. After the passing of her husband, she enjoyed traveling with friends, continuing to embrace new places, new experiences, and new memories.
Above all, JoAnn cherished the simple beauty around her: the beach, sunsets, and time spent with the people she loved most. She especially loved meeting Mark and Ricky’s friends with grilled cheese sandwiches on the dock after a long day of boating—those moments meant everything, filled with warmth, laughter, and welcome.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard O. Dannenmiller (1996); her son, Richard J. Dannenmiller (2021) and her brother, Ronald J. Bunker (2025).
She is survived by her son Mark H. Dannenmiller (Christie); her grandchildren Kiley West (Kyle), Keller Dannenmiller (Sarah Beth); and her great-grandson Maverick. She is also survived by Olivia Alagood (Dylan), Lauren Dannenmiller, and her sister Jerrie Loffler (Chuck), along with nieces and nephews.
JoAnn’s family will honor her request: there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the LifePath Hospice House, 3723 Upper Creek Dr., Sun City, FL 33573, in her memory.
JoAnn loved being a wife, mom, and “meme.” She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, and for the family she helped shape with her steady devotion.
