James Walter Cline

January 13, 1947 – January 9, 2026

It is with extreme sadness after a long battle with cancer, that James passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, at the age of 78 in his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Wooward Oklahoma on January 13, 1947, to Helen and William (Noah) Cline. He is proceeded in death by his parents, younger brother Jack and Nephew Allen. On February 4, 2026 his older brother William (Bill) passed away in Mooreland Oklahoma.

James survived by his wife Vicki, daughters Ranie, Shelby and Kelsey. As well as his grandchildren, Maree, Lola, Kiara, Amilianna, Brooklynn, Grayson and Rhegan. Along with Nephews Jason, Jeremy and Steve. “Jimmy” lived life with kindness and an infectious sense of humor, earning him the title of best friend among those who knew him.

James was trained in Oklahoma as a hairdresser and worked in the Olympia area as a hairdresser for over 20 years. He also worked for Washington State Liquor Control Board for approximately 20 years until his retirement in 2009. In his early years growing up in Woodward Oklahoma, James enjoyed working as a salesman for a men’s clothing company.

James was a veteran of the US Army. His passions were fast cars, trains, guns, fishing, camping, music, dancing and spending time with his family and friends. He loved going to the ocean and flying kites. James was a proud member of the Cherokee Tribe. He also enjoyed watching football and was major fan of the Seattle Seahawks and the Oklahoma Sooners.

There will be a celebration of life for James on the property he and Vicki shared for 30 years this spring or summer. An update will be posted with the date and time.

A celebration of life will be held on the property on August 15th , 2026 at 2pm .
