David Lee Catron

David Lee Catron, 75, of Onalaska, Washington, passed away peacefully at his home of natural causes on July 14, 2026.

David was born on September 11, 1950, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to Leslie Catron and Marilyn Ione Dunlap. He graduated from Clear Fork High School in Bellville, Ohio, with the Class of 1968. Shortly after graduation, he proudly answered the call to serve his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1971, including service in Vietnam.

Following his military service, David lived in Arizona from 1971 to 1976 before eventually making his home in Onalaska, Washington. Throughout his career, he worked as a mechanic, carpenter, and millwright. He was known as a skilled craftsman who could build or repair nearly anything and took great pride in the work of his hands.

David was a man of deep faith who loved God and had an endless curiosity about the world around him. He found joy in learning new things, solving problems, and creating with his hands. Those who knew him will always remember his favorite saying: "No one can take your name, your honor, or your faith from you. You can only give them away.”

David is remembered by his sons, Aric Catron of Gwinn, Michigan, and Caleb Catron of Georgetown, Georgia; his daughter, Lisa Weber of Ocala, Florida; his brother, Ronald Borland of Mansfield, Ohio; his sister, Elizabeth Brown of Shelby, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Catron and Marilyn Ione Dunlap; his brother, Roger Catron; and his daughter, Terri Sydenstricker.

A celebration of David's life will be held on September 11, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at his home in Onalaska, Washington. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his life, share memories, and celebrate the legacy of a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, craftsman, and man of faith.
