Ema Grace Barker

Jun 23, 2003 — Aug 21, 2026

Ema Grace Barker, born June 23, 2003, in Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, in Lacey, Washington, due to natural causes. She was 23 years old.

Ema grew up in Grand Meadow and Rochester, Minnesota, later moving to Lacey, Washington. She graduated with the Class of 2021. On December 19, 2023, she married the love of her life, Owen Curtis Barker.

Ema was a devoted stay-at-home mother to her four children: Oliver Lee, age 6; Ryder John, age 4; Jack Curtis, age 1; and Delilah May, age 2 months. Her children were the center of her world, and she cherished spending time with them, being outside together, baking, painting, and drawing.

Ema was stubborn and strong-willed, but those who knew her also knew her as deeply loving, caring, thoughtful, and strong. She had a special way of putting her heart into the things and people she loved, and her memory will live on through her family and especially through her children.

Ema is survived by her husband, Owen Curtis Barker; her four children, Oliver Lee, Ryder John, Jack Curtis, and Delilah May; her parents, Rohn and AmyJo Shearer; her brothers, Jordan, Jesse, and Mick; her sisters, Lydia, Molly Bea, and Lucy Lu; and her grandfather, Francis.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jerry and Jo, and Charlie Shearer.

A private viewing will be held at a later date for immediate family.

Ema will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Though her time with us was far too short, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the beautiful family she leaves behind will keep her spirit alive.

The Barker family appreciates the love and support of their family, friends, and community during this heartbreaking time. If you would like to help support the family, please consider contributing to the Meal Train for the Barker family.
